I first fell in love with Anthony Goicolea's photography last semester when we studied him in my history of photography class (definitely my favorite class that I've taken so far). Seeing Goicolea's drawings make me love him more. He is such a talented artist. He also makes must-see short films. I've seen a few that my professor showed us in class and the films helped me better understand the recurring theme of obsession + neurosis that is found throughout Giocolea's work. It looks like the films will be posted on his website in the future since he has a category set aside for that. Unfortunately, the book that comes with the dvd is currently out of print; used/new editions can be found via Amazon for around $200. My professor had the book and passed it around in class...it is definitely a must-buy book and I will be getting it as soon as I have $200 to spend on a book. I will contact my professor to see if he knows whether it will be re-issued, and if I discover anything, I will definitely share the news.
